Are online casinos legal in Ireland right now?
The Gambling Regulation Act 2024 set up the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI) to license betting, gaming and some lotteries. GRAI’s remote betting licences took effect on 1 July 2026, and it says applications for gaming licences will open during 2027 and 2028. Until then, GRAI’s phasing guidance tells existing gaming licence holders to keep renewing with the Revenue Commissioners, so no GRAI record yet authorises an online casino.
What an Irish betting licence tells you
Each brand profile links to the relevant Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland record. The licensed company, licence number, activity and validity dates come from the official register published on 13 October 2026 and downloaded on 18 October 2026. The export contains 41 licences across 39 licensees: Remote Betting, Remote Betting Intermediary and In-person Betting. It contains no Remote Gaming entry.
A betting licence does not make an online casino legal in Ireland on its own terms: it does not establish authorisation for casino or poker. For a casino account, check the company and product-specific terms on the operator’s own site. Some brands identify separate Gibraltar or Malta arrangements; those must not be relabelled as an Irish casino licence.
Brands, companies and shared licences
The 26 profiles include brands sharing a licensee: Paddy Power and Betfair, BetVictor and talkSPORT BET, Betmaster and Casinoin, and QuinnBet and QuinnCasino. They are separate brand entries, not 26 independently licensed companies. PartyCasino appears in the Irish register as PartyCasino (Sports). Its casino terms are a separate check.
Availability and closure notices
Current Irish betting registration is not proof that every casino game or account type is available. Read the note beside each brand and confirm eligibility in its Irish terms. BETDAQ has announced that no markets will remain after 21 October 2026, with account access for statements and withdrawals until 4 November 2026. Its entry links to that notice.
Casino bonus terms: read the game rules first
A game’s return percentage, volatility and feature rules describe different things. None predicts the next result. A promotion can add wagering requirements, stake limits, expiry dates and excluded games. This directory does not invent bonuses, review scores or withdrawal promises.
Looking for current casino offers?
Vegasoo does not publish offers. Our sister site bonuses.ie ranks online casinos in Ireland on wagering, bonus terms and licences, with each offer’s conditions.
Compare the source records
Use search to find a brand, open its eligibility and operator details, or select up to three brands to compare. The directory is alphabetical. This is a casino-brand comparison with Irish betting records, not the complete GRAI register: the register also contains businesses without a documented casino brand in this directory.
Keep play within limits
Are online casinos legal in Ireland for under-18s? No. Play is for adults aged 18 or over. Check the operator’s other eligibility conditions and set a limit before playing. Our Irish support page links to GamblingCare and GRAI help. To explore a game with virtual credits, use Games; for football without a betting account, open Live Score.
